10 Daily Habits
I've outlined 10 daily habits that will invigorate your lymphatic system and prepare your body for healing.
A perfect day would involve doing all these activities.
No-one is perfect and we all have busy lives, so don't panic about not being able to do them all. Try to do as many as you can.
Start with the first one and the last one for now. We will implement some of the other activities later on in the course as wellness challenges.
1) WAKE + HYDRATE
Drink a glass of warm filtered water or Morning digestive tea or Ginger tea.
Drink 7 more glasses of filtered water or herbal tea during the day (total 2-4 litres per day). Warm water is better for your digestive system.
2) SKIN BRUSHING
Stimulate the lymphatic system with dry brushing. It's also very soothing for the nervous system.
3) HOT + COLD THERAPY
Stimulate and detox the lymphatic system. Sauna/steam is great for releasing toxins and cold water showering or swimming stimulates brown fat production, immune function, hormone and mood regulation and releases endorphines.
4) MASSAGE WITH OIL
Use coconut oil or massage oil with essential oils to moisturise all over.
5) 7-10 AM: BREAKFAST
Start the day with healthy fats, good quality protein and slow release complex carbs. Eggs and oats are great options.
6) SUNLIGHT + NATURE
Get outside in nature for at least 1 hour each day. Expose your skin to the sun, and walk barefoot if you can. Touch the trees, grass, sand and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us.
7) 12-2 PM: LUNCH
Digestion is at it's peak around midday, so eat a good lunch filled with organic produce.
8) 4-6 PM: DINNER + FASTING
Keep dinner light and satisfying. Don't eat anything after dinner. The longer the gap between dinner and breakfast the better.
9) YOGA + BREATHING
Make time to do some yoga and unwind from the day. Breathe deeply, focus on the body and take your mind to a happy place for a while.
10) SLEEP
Prioritise good quality sleep. The body is busy repairing itself while we sleep, clearing old cells, generating new cells and reducing inflammation.
